First the puzzler; I will reply, it might take me a little longer as I try to rest as much as possible. This is a difficult puzzler and if everyone gets stuck, I will pass on a clue later on in the week. Give it a try by clicking on the URL in my signature line called Sandi's Puzzlers. I found just a snippet of a case involving Keziah SHIELDS of Cumberland County, hoping I can find more. A petition was put before the 24th Congress of the United States in their first session on January 1936. It was entitled "On a Donation of Land to Keziah SHIELDS. The piece I found reads: "That the object of the petition appears to be the procurement of a grant by Congress, of some portion of the public lands to Keziah Shields, the widow of Christian Shields, and to her three infant sons, born at one period of birth, in the lifetime of their father. Mrs. Shields is also the mother of two other and older children, and it is represented by the petitioners to have been left, on the death of her husband, in 1835, in very narrow circumstances. There are the only grounds of the application to Congress ....." I'll try to find the rest as I believe it to have the names of some of the other residents of Cumberland Co asking for her to be given relief. I'll be back later!
