    3. Just a few notes ... In my series on pension applications, etc - I have the following yet to do - Barren Co - Daniel Spencer - Civil War Adolphus N Cabell - Barren Co (Cave City) Ransom C Hazelip - Hart Co Phillip H Emmert - Monroe Co Presbyterian Church & Green River Masonic Lodge No 88 of Munfordville - Hart Co. I hope maybe some of these will be of interest - or more importantly - of help to you all! As you know, I "run" the SCKY and KYBarren lists a little differently than many lists who just have queries and no input from the list Mom/Dad. I try to find things that you might not have access to many miles away from the counties covered. As of 1/1/2008, I started my 14th year of posting source data to the list - I pre-date rootsweb - was on the old Maiser lists which some of you are familiar with. That's about 65,000 posts I've made to these lists and the others like KYBIOGRAPHIES & KYRESEARCH. I'm on my 5th or 6th keyboard and 3rd computer after all this! I have been working for the past 2 months on a major project which I just completed over the holidays. Many years ago, in the early 90's I published 5 volumes of Hart Co cemeteries - taken primarily from the records of the late Judge Cann of Hart Co, Eva Coe Peden, and various records provided by WKU library. I was never pleased with them as there were many differences in the list, names skipped, etc, and many pages were dedicated to corrections. So - I decided to re-do all 5 volumes into one and I think I recognize most of the Hart Co names! I did it in a table format, with the names listed alphabetically. Columns include the name, birth date, death date, comments and cemetery in which buried. The comments field contains things such as military service, parents' names, sometimes children and grandchildren's names, some marriages (if shown on the stone), civic organization, comments by Judge Cann, etc. Then I did a cross-reference index to the cemeteries so if the reader wishes to see who else is buried in that cemetery they can flip to those pages. Also included are about 12 pages of maps showing the locations of most of the cemeteries, maps of 3 cemeteries showing the various sections and indicating in the comments field which section in which they were buried (thanks to Ray Green of the list). Also, there are about 30 pages of write-ups on the cemeteries - locations, information on some of the people buried there, etc. Thanks to Edith Bastin and Judy Lawler (fearless cemetery transcribers of Hart Co), the book has many updated deaths up into the 2000's (as in year!) on cemeteries they have re-catalogued. The book ended up over 440 pages and I'm typed out! But, finally, there is a total printed copy of the known burials - many of these stones copied in the 1960's by Judge Cann can no longer be found and/or read. If you would like more information, contact me privately. My next project, hopefully, is to get back to the Barren Co court house and start transcribing more deeds, starting with Book O. And, I'll be looking for new material to post to the list also! I wish you all great success in 2008!
