New Era, Humeston, IA, Wednesday, Nov 4, 1891, p. 2: "The boiler at John Quigley's saw mills at Glasgow, KY., exploded, killing a child named Morton, and fatally injuring two other children and Mr. Quigley. Three men employed about the mill were badly injured." News, Frederick, MD, Wed. January 6, 1892, p. 1: "Raided an Illicit Still. Louisville, Ky., Jan. 6. - J W Reed, a deputy marshall of Glasgow, Ky., brings information of a desperate fight between himself and a gang of illicit distillers who were making moonshine whiskey in a secluded portion of the town. Mr. Reed discovered the still and attempted to take it single handed. The moonshiners, who numbered a half dozen, made a desperate fight, and the marshall found it necessary to use his revolved. Chris Depp, one of the illicit distillers, was perhaps fatally wounded, and several others received injuries. George Martin and several others whose names could not be learned were arrested and are now in the Glasgow jail." New North, Rhineland, WI, Thursday, 11 Feb 1892, p. 6: "Seth Dorsey, Henry Dorsey and a negro named Overton were killed by a falling wall at Glasgow, Ky."
