We are looking for information on the GADBERRY and SMITH Famlies. THOMAS GADBERRY and wife, SARAH MACKIE SMITH and her four children moved to Barren about 1805. The couple married in Rowan County, NC area about 1805. She had four children from a previous marriage to ANDREW SMITH. Specific names and dates are: SARAH MACKIE, born 1777 in Rowan County, NC. She was the daughter of ROBERT MACKIE. She married, first, ANDREW SMITH, born 1759. She married second THOMAS GADBERRY. The SMITH children were: JOHN SMITH, born c 1790 in Rowan County. He married a MISS UNKNOWN GADBERRY of Barren County, moved to Spartanburg County, SC and finally immigrated to Mississippi DANIEL SMITH, born c 1795, Rowan. This DANIEL may have remained in Berren or he may have immigrated elsewhere MARY MOLLY SMITH, who married HENRY FRY. Other than her husband's name, we known nothing about her. ANN AMMY SMITH, nothing is known. In Barren County, the couple had two children, THEODORE GADBERRY, born 1808 and MARTHA GADBERRY, born 1806. THOMAS GADBERRY lived on up into the 1850s. His wife SARAH MACKIE SMITH lived into the 1830s, both apparently died in Berren County. Any scrap of information would be welcome. Gratefully Harold C.
