Taken from the Olean Democrat, Olean, NY, Thursday, October 24, 1889, page 1 "A RAILROAD ACCIDENT. One passenger Train Collides With Another - Eleven Persons Injured. Glendale, KY., Oct. 23. - A collision occurred at Lynnland, on the Louisville and Nashville railroad, between two passenger trains. One of them had taken the siding, and the switch being left open it was run into by the other. "The injured are as follows: Rev. J. M. BRUCE, Glasgow, Ky., sprained and bruised arm and spine injured; Van Dyke HEISER, Millerstown, Ky., internal injuries of a serious nature; J. M. WHEELER, Worthington, Ky., fracture of left arm and wrist, scalp wound and right side bruised; Mrs. E. L. JEFFRIES, Horse Cave, Ky., face and head badly hurt, knee injured; William CROWE, Elizabethtown, Ky., right leg injured, also injuries about head; Ellie OGLE, Louisville, right knee injured; three children, names unknown, slightly burned by overturning of stove, but not serious; Charles KING, fireman, arm injured and hip hurt, also injured about head; Mrs. W. ROGESRS, Horse Cave, Ky., shoulder dislocated."
