Crumpton, born 4 January 1871 in Kentucky, died Riverside county 30 June 1960, Age 89, mother's maiden name Moran. This would be Nettie Ozella Parrish who married Riley Buford Walton, according to the earlier posting by Charles W. Walton. The census shows Nettie as married to "K. Crumpton" in the 1910 census of Barren county, Kentucky and the 1920 census of Kings county, California. He is listed in the California Death Index (1905-1929): K. Crumpton, wife's initials N.O., died Kings county on 24 December 1924, Age 58, Certificate #55044. They are shown together in the census with 5 Crumpton children. All 5 are listed in the California Death Index (1940-2000): 1 - Bruce Parrish Crumpton, mother's maiden name Parrish, born 12 December 1901 in Kentucky, died Alameda county 17 August 1999, Age 97, Soc. Sec. #573-14-4054 2 - Ruth Swerngin, mother's maiden name Parrish, father's name Crumpton born 18 July 1905 in Kentucky, died Kings county 24 April 1980, Age 74, Soc. Sec. #569-96-4971 3 - Cyrene Elaine is listed twice under two different surnames, Artis and Cain - born 5 August 1909 in Kentucky, mother's maiden name Parrish, father's name Crumpton, died Alameda county 26 July 1948, Age 38. 4 - Sidney E. Crumpton, mother's maiden name Parrish, born 5 May 1907 in Kentucky, died Alameda county 28 December 1982, Age 75, Soc. Sec. #561-03-4118 5 - Lemuel Miller Crumpton, mother's maiden name Parrish, born 13 December 1911 in Kentucky, died Santa Clara county 22 September 1992, Age 80, Soc. Sec. #548-01-8164 There were other Crumpton's listed in the California Death Index (1905-1929) who died in Kings county and appear to be related: Sid Crumpton, no spouse given, d. Kings county 27 July 1907, Age 37, Certificate #16712 Molly Crumpton, no spouse given, died Kings county 13 March 1920, Age 55, Certificate #11708 Virgin M. Crumpton, spouse L. W., died Kings county 29 November 1917, Age 81, Certificate #37011 (From other sources, this is Virgin Mary Bradshaw, married Lemuel in 1856). Lemuel W. Crumpton, spouse V. M., died Kings county 30 September 1923, Age 91, Certificate #38744 Cal. C. Crumpton, died Kings county 17 July 1929, Age 12 hours, Certificate #36472 I believe K. Crumpton was probably the son of Lemuel and Virgin, listed as Cavel in the 1870 census, Cabell in the 1880 census, and again as Cavel (born Nov. 1866) in the 1900 census.
