GLASGOW - James Lankford Lyons [photo], 90 of Glasgow died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He was the son of the late Ernest and Judy Sampson Lyons. Mr. Lyons was a lifelong farmer and a member and a deacon at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He is survived by one daughter Linda (Paul) Bray and one son Larry (Linda) Lyons both of Glasgow; 5 grandchildren, Erica (Melvin) Vance, Kevin Lyons, Chad (Celena) Bray, April (David) Jackman and Whitney (Gary) Early all of Glasgow; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers J. W. and Truman Lyons of Indianapolis, IN; 3 sisters Earnestine Woodcock of Tracy, Ruth Callahan of Horse Cave and Gladen Thiess of LaGrange, KY and a very special neighbor Nell Eaton. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Grace Eddings Lyons, five brothers and two sisters. Funeral servuces wukk be 11 a.m. Tuesday, 4 Oct 2011 at A. F.
