GLASGOW - Philip Muncie Delk [photo], 68, of Glasgow died Friday, September 30, 2011, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Glasgow the son of the late Philip M. Delk and Lela Mae Boone Delk. Muncie was a retired firefighter with the Glasgow Fire Dept. after 25 years and also retired from the Barren-Metcalfe EMS after 15 years of service. He was a former employee of the Glasgow Recreation Dept., Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, B&S Garage and the Barren Co. Correctional Facility. He had been a member of the Glasgow Auxiliary Police Dept. and until his death was a deputy with the Barren Co. Sheriff's Dept. where he served as a bailiff in Barren Co. District Court. He is survived by his wife Patricia Fields Delk; 1 son Philip Lewis Delk (Angela); 1 daughter Rita Walden (Joe); 3 grandchildren Dakota Walden and Gracie and Jacob Delk and 1 brother Larry Delk all of Glasgow. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother James L. "Jimmy" Delk and a half-brother Jeffrey Wayne Delk. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday.
