GLASGOW - Henry Burks "H. B." Steen Jr. [photo], of Glasgow, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011 at Rosewood Nursing Home in Bowling Green after suffering a stroke in May. He was born in Glasgow, the son of the late Henry Burks Steen Sr. and Josephine Morris Steen. H. B. was a band director and music teacher for a number of years. He was a devoted Christian and member of the Methodist Church. He enjoyed using his musical gifts to share his love for Christ with others. After his retirement, H. B. taught private music lessons, composed and recorded music, and lived every day to the fullest. His hobbies included tennis, swimming (especially in the ocean) and watching football. He is survived by one daughter, Glee Lenoir; one son, Henry Burks Steen III (Buddy) and six grandchildren, Sarah Steen, Allison Steen, Craig Lenoir, Jennifer Lenoir, Jessica Lenoir and Andrea Lenoir, and one sister, Janet Boles. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Happy Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
