Hi Listers,   I am researching the family of CURTIS.   LeRoy CURTIS was born between 1829 - 1832 in Jackson County, Tennessee.  He had a brother, Eli CURTIS, born Abt. 1826 in Tennessee, d: 26 Mar 1853 in Monroe County, Kentucky.  Their mother was Gerusha UNKNOWN, born Abt. 1796 in South Carolina. I am trying to identify the father of LeRoy and Eli, perhaps others.  There is a possibility the father is Joel Curtis, but no evidence has been located to verify that.   LeRoy CURTIS died Bet. 25 Jul 1891 - 1900 in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky.  He is buried in Harlan's Cross Road Cemetery, Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky.  LeRoy married Marinda GRINDSTAFF 04 Nov 1852 in Monroe County, Kentucky.    Known issue: Henderson CURTIS, b: 27 Aug 1853 in Monroe County, Kentucky , d: 14 Mar 1926 in Monroe County, Kentucky.  Henderson married (1) Mary Susan MOORE (2) Lydia Ann COULTER.   Catherine CURTIS     b: 24 Sep 1855 in Monroe County, Kentucky      d: 29 Nov 1922 in Monroe County, Kentucky.  Catherine married Wiley G. RHOTON.   John CURTIS b: 06 Jan 1861 in Monroe County, Kentucky d: 21 Feb 1933 in Monroe County, Kentucky, married Nancy J. SHORT.   Nicholas CURTIS b: 09 Feb 1864 in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky      d: 05 Feb 1891 in Monroe County, Kentucky, married Nancy Marinda RHOTON.   Garrett Evan CURTIS      b: 22 Mar 1873 in Monroe County, Kentucky, married Isabell UNKNOWN.   John at Sissom dot org
