This deed, pre-printed shows the receiver as a Keylor as near as I can decipher - a name of which I am not familiar in Barren Co. If anyone has any information on this man, please post to the list! "This deed, between James D. FORBIS and his wife George A Forbis of Barren County, Kentucky of the first part, and Burd KEYLOR of same county and State, of the second part. Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part, in consideration of the sum of two dollars and fifty cts cash in hand paid the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged to secure the deferred payment a a lien is hereby retained upon the property hereinafter described (all this crossed out) do hereby sell, grant, and convey to the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, the followed described property, viz: A certain tract or parcel of land being in Barren County State of Kentucky and lying on or near the waters of Bever Creek, bounded and described as follows: Beginning at a white walnut BYBEE's corner. Thense S41 1/2 W 14 P. to a stake. Thense S41E8P to a stake in FORBUSH'S line. (note the other spelling). Thense N12E 16 2/3 P. to the beginning. Containing one half acre be the same more or less. George Ann Forbush wife of said Jas D. Forbush waives relinquishes and releases her potential right of dower to said land and join in this conveyance. To have and to hold the same, with all the appurtenances thereon, to the second party his heirs and assigns forever, with covenant of "General Warranty."
