I'm going to hold off a little longer before starting the puzzlers again; much to do in the next few weeks. But I wanted to share this little tip with you. Have you ever wondered why, when a husband sold property and you know he is married, but there is no acknowledgement by his wife. You know that the wife had to be interrogated separately and apart from her husband to be sure that it was satisfactory to her as it would involve her dower interest in the estate at his death. If there is no notation or signature by the wife, it could mean that she was deceased. If suddenly a new female name appears though, it could indicate that the first wife was deceased and he had remarried. Watch out for nicknames and diminutives however.
