Bell [photo on line] Residence: Glasgow KY Born: 23 July 1922 Died: Thursday, 28 Apr 2011, Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital, age 88 Son of the late John Evans Bell and Margaret Suerilda Eastham Bell Retired salesman for Sherwin WIlliams, US Navy veteran. He sailed aboard the USS Trinity, an oil tanker and aboard the USS Gambier Bay, an airacraft carrier during his military career. He fought in five major battles and received several medals including the African-European Medal, American WW II Victory Medal, American Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal. His highest rank was Quartermaster 1st Class. Member Glasgow Baptist Church Survivors: Wife: Virginia Lee Bell Six children: David Bell, Mark Bell, Peggy Billips, Mary Hurtgen, Donna Gordon and Terry Bydik 23 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews Preceded also in death by: Two brothers: Dennis and Avery Bell Two sisters: Charlene Langston and Sylvia Cross Services: 2 pm Sunday, 1 May 2011, Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home, entombment at Happy Valley Memorial Gardens.
