Garrett [photo] Residence: Haywood/Glasgow KY Born: 23 Mar 1928 Died: Saturday, 30 Apr 2011, The Medical Center at Bowling Green, extended illness, age 83 Son of the late Millard Filmore Garrett and Birdie Cary Garrett Retired excavator and land developer. For nearly 15 years he was the owner-operator of Ottie's Marathon Service Station and Towing Service in Toledo, OH. He loved drag racing and was very successful in the Ohio-Michigan racing cirtuit. In 1971, he returned to Barren Co and soon developed Haywood Acres Subdivision. He operated a dozer and excavation service. He was a good natured man who loved his work. He was a veteran of the U S Army; member Grider Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors: Wife: Patsy Clapp Garrett Three children: Ottie A Garrett Jr, (Irene), Alice Faye Talbott and Ben N. Garrett (Sharon), all of Glasgow Ten grandchildren: Alex Talbott of Glasgow, Angela Cline of Glasgow, Phillip Garrett (deceased), Monte Garrett of IN, Dana Adams of KY, Matthew Garrett of Glasgow, Samantha Garrett of IN, Chad York of OH, Julia Meyers of WI and Joshua Garrett of IN.
