Glasgow - James William Gaston, 86, of Glasgow, died at 7 a.m., Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. The Earlington native was a retired dairy farmer, World War II Army veteran, member of Glasgow DAV Chapter 20 and Bethel United Methodist Church. He was a son of the late Johnny Gaston and Betty Mae Raines Gaston and husband of the late NOvice Udean Witcher Gaston. He is survived by one son, Robert William "Bobby" Gaston and wife, Loretta, of Scottsville; two daughters, Carol Kirtley and husband, Robert, of Campbellsville and Brenda Ann Ford of Scottsville; two sisters, Barbara Twigg and husband, Ron, Portland, Ind., and Joyce Miller, Richmond, Ind.; six grandchldren, three great grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Austin Earl Gaston and Edward Lee Gaston. Funeral services will be noon Thursday, July 7, 2001, at Goad Funeral Home with Bro. Neil Jeffries and Bro. Doug Carter Jr. officiating and burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Glasgow DAV Chapter 20. Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Goad Funeral Home.
