Glasgow - Vera Imogene Cannon [photo], 84 of Glasgow, died Saturday July 9, 2011, at the Glasgow Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Metcalfe County the daughter of the late William A. Medley and Myrna Christine Pedigo Medley. Mrs. Cannon was retired from Sorenson Manufacturer in Glasgow and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Kenny Cannon (Kim) of Glasgow, Wayne Cannon (Linda) of Glasgow and Walter Cannon of Glasgow; two daughters Elaine Alexander of Maryville, Tenn. and Judy Carney (Joe) of Pelham, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren, Christina Cannon, Dakota Cannon, Brad Cannon (Amy), Donna Smith (Chris), John Michael Smith (Debra), Janetta Smith, Jason Cannon, Shane Cannon (Jodie), Denny Ballinger (Julie), Vincent Ballinger (Missy), Josh Alexander (Britney) and MIchael Todd Gardner; 18 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Jessie Napier (Garland) of Indiana. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Author Hall Cannon; one sister Hildreth Medley; two brothers Dalton Medley and W. A. Medley and one grandchild Angela Lynch. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Pedigo-Gilley Cemetery in Wisdom.
