    3. The response was really encouraging to my post on recording your own biography. I hope it has motivated many more of you. As an additional thought: If you create your biography on a word processor such as Word, it is possible to import pictures into your narrative. I'm in the process of scanning over 500 photos that belonged to my dear Mom, plus my own - to save them in case something happens to the old prints. I save them either in My Pictures (not sure what it's called on a Mac), or set up a file on my desktop. Then, when I do my biography and mention a person, or a house, or a place, I insert a picture right to the Word document. This is done (non Mac again) by clicking on the line at the top of the screen that says Insert ... then picture, then from file. If the picture is too large or too small, place your cursor on the picture and right click on the mouse. This will show you options - select Properties. A pop-up box will appear, click on the one that says size. You will see a line that shows the size of the photo as shown. You can reduce this amount - say from 500.5 to 200. Too small - go back again and enlarge it. What if you don't have a picture of some place you've visited or something you want to illustrate? By using google or yahoo (and others) you can see there is an option for Images. Click on this and in the query box type in a photo you're looking for. As an example - St. Louis Arch. You will be presented by hundreds of photographs or diagrams of the arch. When you find one that you like, click on it. If it is not copyrighted (they will say), right click on the picture, save as - then give it a name and save it to the file where your photographs are stored. You can also just do a search for the item in the search box of google, yahoo, start page, etc. Microsoft also provides photos and graphics which come with your system. I think this adds a lot of interest. For example, if you're telling about your military career, you can insert a picture or graphic of a flag, or a soldier in uniform, or some other insignia. The possibilities are endless. Have fun! Sandi Sandi's Puzzlers: http://www.gensoup.org/gorinpuzzles/index.php Sandi's site: http://ggpublishing.tripod.com/
