Tidbits of news reports from the Glasgow Weekly Times from counties in south central KY except Barren Co. CUMBERLAND CO: A Happy Marriage. The residence of the bride's father, Mr. Vaughn, near Burksville, in Cumberland county, on Tuesday morning last, his daughter, Miss Belle, was married to Mr. John Y. Wood of our county. The attendants were Mr. Henry Fishback, from near Cave City and Miss Ellen Vaughn, a sister of the happy brides [sic]. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Mr. McPherson, a very pleasant and impressive manner, before a house of invited guests. The bride was handsomely attired and looked really handsome, and is one of Cumberland's most amiable young ladies, while the groom is one of our most enterprising and industrious young men. After the conclusion of the marriage services, the happy couple in company with several friends, started immediately for Mr. James Fishback's, a brother-ion-law, of the Grove, near your city, where there was a very magnificent supper, awaiting their arrival. The supper was gotten up in complete style, consisted of deliccies [sic] of all kinds and descriptions, too numerous to mention, which every person partook of very freely indeed, and enjoyed most heartily. The ladies of that household deserves great credit for attending to the culinary department, in the manner they did. We wish the newly married couple a long and pleasant life, and may they at last, enter in the home of eternal bliss. Respectfully, D. W. J. (2 Jan 1879 issue). WARREN CO: All Dead.
