Cave City - Ruby Jewell Rigdon [photo], 77, Glasgow, died Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. The Barren County native was the daughter of the late Arthur and Louie Hughes. She was a member of Basil Chapel United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Elmer Rigdon of Glasgow; three sons, Freddy Rigdon (Wanda) of Glasgow, Tim Rigdon (Laura) of Summer Shade, Keith Rigdon, of Belton, Texas; six grandchildren, Leslie Springston (Eric), Hilarie Rigdon, Coy Rigdon, Matthew Rigdon, Sarah Rigdon, Devan Rigdon; two great-grandchildren, Lela and Graham Springston; two sisters, Beatrice Firkins (Jude), Katharine London (Jack); a brother, Jimmy Hughes (Bonnie); a sister-in-law, Jo Hughes and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel Hughes and her children, Brenda Charlene and Samuel Steven. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, June 24 at Basil Chapel United Baptist Church, with burial in Cave City Cemetery.
