    1. [KYBARREN] IN CLOSING MONDAY, 11 JULY 2011 - PUZZLER RETURNS!
    2. Sandi Gorin
    3. Good morning from a very warm south central Kentucky. First - I am abstracting from a post made by our friend, Bill Utterback, who manages many rootsweb lists and is one of our list members also. He said it better than I can - thanks Bill! "... RootsWeb has taken their SORBS (Spam & Open Relay Blocking System) system off line and are experimenting with other spam blockers, given the fact that SORBS was causing as many problems as it was preventing. They have advised the list hosts that they are experimenting with other spam blockers, and, as a result, an address may get unsubscribed here and there which should have not have been unsubbed. and there may be a bit of spam creep onto the lists as they experiment with new ways of blocking this pesky nuisance. Anytime that we see a message that has nothing but a URL in the message body, the only action we should take is to just delete the message, and *do not* click on the URL. Most of the URL's are harmless advertising, but some of them will cause your machine to become infected with malware, which will send the same message to all of the people in your address book, and if those folks click on it, it happens again, over and over, which makes it self-perpetuating. But these minor quirks are well worth our patience, I think, since SORBS had become a really serious problem for all list hosts particularly, and for some people using certain ISP's, or even just certain, individual addresses within an ISP. Hopefully, we're through with SORBS problems." If you suddenly stop receiving posts from these two lists, send me an e-mail privately and I will re-sub you. Lastly - life is almost slowing down for me and I am starting the puzzlers again. Charlie has posted the puzzler for this week and it's an easier one to get back into the routine again. To take a guess, click on the URL in my signature line called Sandi's Puzzlers. This will take you to a web site where you see the puzzler and will be able to enter your answer. Please enter your e-mail address correctly - it will come directly to me, no one else will see it. I try to respond to each guess. Have a good day, stay cool and discover something about your family tree this week!
