Photo Glasgow - Clifton K. Matthews, 83, of Glasgow died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born in Barren County the son of the late Ollie Dexter and Blanche Shipley Matthews. Mr. Matthews was a farmer and was retired after 28 years from the Kentucky Department of Transportation where he had been a special crew and Barren County foreman. Upon retirement he was the supervisor for the Bowling Green district. He was a U.S. Army Vedteran of WWII and was a member of the Union #2 Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife Olene Bartley Matthews; 4 daughters, Judy Glass (Lary) of Glasgow, Jo Fields of Mt. Washington, KY, Jackie Clemmons (Tony) of Glasgow and Jean Crow (Follis) of Glasgow; 9 grandchildren Lori Ward (Danny) of Mt. Washington, Brad Fields (Shelly) of Mt. Washington, KY, Angie Bishop (Chuck), Andrea Haynes (Corey), Matt Clemmons (Jacque) and Spencer Clemmons (Jennifer) all of Glasgow, Linsay Ozier (John) of Nashville, TN, Haley Crow of Nashville, TN and Brey Crow of Charleston, SC; 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, 1 June 2011, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday.
