Cave City - Gladys ALine Young [photo], 76, of Cave City, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Glenview Health Care, of Glasgow. The Edmonton native was the daughter of the late Floyd and Pauline Jewell and the widow of L. R. Young. She was retired from the Mammoth Cave Garment Co. and a member of Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Hunt, Cave City; two sons, Donald Karnes (Betty) of Cave City, Kenneth Karnes (Sharon), of LeGrande; two brothers, Ed Jewell (Linda) of Cave City, William (Boots), of Jewell (Joann) [sic], of Center; a sister, Joann Owens (Jimmy) of Indiana; nine grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Karnes and a brother, Raymond Jewell. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Bob Hunt Funeral CHapel with burial in the Cave City Cemetery.
