Glasgow - Velma Mosby, 81, of Glasgow, died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. Born in Barren County, she was the daughter of the late Clemmie and Sarah Emma Jones Chapman. Her husband was the late Charles W. "Doc" Mosby. Mrs. Mosby was a homemaker and attended the Brotherhood Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Diane Smith (Numia) and Judy Mosby and fiance Glenn Cook; 2 sons, Mike Mosby (Phyllis) and Tim Mosby (Tammy) all of Glasgow; 1 brother, Leo Chapman of Glasgow; 9 grandchildren Chris Smith (Shannon), Kimberly Casteel (Terry), Steven Adams (Jessica), Jason Adams (Desiree), Michael Adams, Charity Childress and fiance James Brown, Lindsey Kidd (Spencer), Carissa Uptegraff (Billy) and Ginger Richardson (Rick). Sixteen great-grandchildren also survive. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Thomas, and two brothers, Floyd and Paul Chapman. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
