Fresno, CA. - Cordelia "Granny" Eatman Peden [photo], 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Cordelia was born in Glasgow, KY but had been a resident of the Fresno Calley, Calif. for 60 years. She came home to Glasgow as often as possible, visiting family and friends. She had been an active member of the Fresno community, having been Central High School's PTA President, a major contributor to the former Infant's of Prague Auxiliary Committee, and the first woman to Fresno to run for city council. She will be remembered as a social, fun-loving woman, who was always smiling and loved to dance. She was a member of the Grub Gulch Grannies in Oakhurst, Ca. She was married to the late Ewell Peden. Cordelia is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Josephine Eatman; and her dauhter, Josephine Pagliassotti. Shye is survived by her sons, D. J. Peden and Ewell Clayton Peden; her daughters, Threasa Peden Carlili and Jeanette Graham, all born in Glasgow; her grandsons,Darin Piereira and wife Shannon, Chad Snavely and his wife Ashley; granddaughter, Dana Turner; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held at Belmont Memorial Park on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. Memorial Donations may be made to Horizon Health and Subacute Center of Fresno.
