Glasgow - Roy Duane Withrow, 75, of Glasgow died Wednesday, June 15, 2001 at T. J. Samson Community Hospital. He was born in Muhlenberg County, the son of the later Otis Earl Withrow and Floeva Allison Withrow of Owensboro, who survives. Mr. Withrow served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Cave City Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. As an educator for 36 years, he retired as Superintendent of the Barren County School System in 1992. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Betty Bennett Withrow; 2 sons, Duane Withrow and wife Melanie and their children Kylie and Cortney, and Chad Withrow and wife Kenika and their children Clay and Gavin, all of Glasgow; a brother, Raymond "Corky" Withrow and wife Barbara of Owensboro, KY.; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Marr of Glasgow and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Sue Withrow. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011, at A. F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Beech Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Glasgow (KY) Daily Times, Friday, 17 June 2011, p.
