GLASGOW - James H. Tolle, 83 [photo], Glasgow, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at his residence. A native of Barren County, he was a son of the late William Henry and Pearl Brown Tolle. He was a retired Tool and Die Maker at SKF Industries, and was an avid supporter and a past president of Glasgow Scottie Band Parents. He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was a longtime member of the Coombs-Dickinson Bible Class, a Deacon, and chair of the property committee for many years. He was a veteran of WWII, having served with the United States Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Jo-Ann Tolle, one daughter, Cindy Greer and her husband Bobby, of Glasgow; one son, Steve LaForge and his wife, Deb, of Franklin, Tenn.; five grandchildren: Leslie LaForge of Hermitage, Tenn., Sarah Greer of Glasgow, Shelby Tooley and husband Dustin, of Tompkinsville, Jeremy Pratt of Nashville, and Rachel Stephens of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; one brother, Billy Joe Tolle, of Wichita, Ks.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Tolle and one sister, Luverne Carder. Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church with burial in the Glasgow Municipal Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Glasgow Chapter 20 DAV. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Hatcher & Saddler Funeral Home.
