We've been notified by Rootsweb that some names are being purged by them from the various lists. This is to prevent individuals from subscribing to many lists at once, with no connection whatsoever, in order to spam the list. They have been watching the various lists to see individuals who do a mass subscribing and then make no posts. Now, I am aware that some of you are quiet subscribers; that you don't post anything to the lists but just read and go on. There is a possibility that you will be unsubscribed. If so and you wish to stay, let me know and I'll put you back on. The bad guys won't likely bother to mass subscribe all over. ! I noticed yesterday that one individual was taken off all 8 or so of my lists; had never heard of them. I apologize if you are a researcher and just don't make posts .... just let me know privately please if you are removed. And, make a post once in awhile!!! Two of my lists don't take queries (KYRESEARCH & KYBIOGRAPHIES) so I'll watch them more closely. They know these are "read only" lists so likely won't do anything with them. KENTUCKY-MEMORIES and KENTUCKY-LEGENDS allow posts from the subscribers. as well as these two lists. Now - as to the status of the project as I have been asked. I'm working almost around the clock on it. I believe all counties and years have been submitted (will check again). I am taking all the names and information submitted to me from the death certificates and putting them (1) in county order then (2) in date order then finally, in alphabetical order within that date. Due to the massive number of names, in most instances, I'm re-working what was submitted, using abbreviations and a 2-column format. This is taking some time in the counties that were hit the hardest. I've been working on 1918 Jefferson Co for several days as there were literally hundreds dying on the same day. I have abt. 125 pages done thru the above, so it is obvious that this will have to go into two volumes. I will be including maps, charts, a brief introduction plus a surname index. I wanted to do a full-name index but due to the tremendous number of names, I cannot. Each page contains right at 100 names x's 125 pages for the first section - you can see an index would be as large as the books itself. Some of the volunteers submitted the data in table format and I've had to convert to a regular Word doc. I apologize but I wanted all the formats to be consistent and the tables take up much more room. I want again to thank those volunteers who did a wonderful job!!! Some did many counties; some tackled huge counties, some were able to do only one county ... all are making this project, which I think is totally unique, possible. Have a great day!
