Author: jasmar101 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.barren/18875.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Ok, I just found her living in neighboring Warren County. Looks like her parents are Vincent and Nancy Low. Per the 1850 census she was born 1841. Two marriages, first to Thomas Ashley on 8-29-1860 in Warren County and then to John Christy in 1875 or 1876 in Barren County. Looks like she may have been a little older than the 36 reported on the 1880 census. Still need to figure out where A.F. Low fits into the picture. Would she be a child of Thomas Ashley but carry Permelia Janes maiden name? Was Thomas a civil war soldier? Jason Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I see that there is a record of marriage between John Christy and Amelia J Ashley in either 1875 or 1876. This must be her. Any idea on who Permelia Jane's parents were? I suspect that A.F. Low may have been Annie Lowe who married Joseph Eapmon (also known as Eatman). Annie has been a brick wall for some time. 1. [KYBARREN] JUST A REMINDER
    2. Sandi Gorin
    3. I would like to compliment most highly the list members of the SCKY and Barren Co lists. They are some of the finest people one could ask for! We have a track record of lots of information, lots of cooperation and sharing and I am thrilled; we are the exception to the rule. Just a reminder to all of us - not a condemation to any of us. But, we'll all been guilty at times of forgetting to say thank you and acknowledge when we've been helped. I am NOT speaking of me - you guys have always been good to drop me a note if I've helped you. But sometimes when we put out a query and someone helps us out, we forget to say that little thank you. Sometimes that help goes way beyond what is expected, a lot of look-ups, photocopying, mailing of materials .... you know, we've all done it. Then the recipient gets busy and forgets to say that thank you which means so much. So - if someone on the list or off has given you a helping hand to break down one of your brick walls, or provided even a smidgen of help that opens up another door of research for you - take time to email them back, or write them, and say thank you. It means a lot! And - you might find a long lost cousin with a ton of information if you show your appreciation ...... or .... if you don't take time to thank them .... someone who will never help you or anyone again. Again - this is not personal to me, but I know it happens a lot in the world of genealogy. Don't be a taker and runner, be a taker and a thanker! Have a grand day; still prepping for the seminar!
