This family later moved to Polk Co TN where a lot of the Wilcox family still lives and where my paternal grandparents are buried. You still didn't give me the proof of William's parentage. Do you not want to share your proof? I don't know which book you're referring to. If it is "Wilcoxson and Allied Families", I have it. I don't agree with all that is in this book as I don't think you should believe all that is in the book you refer to unless you have verified it for yourself. I'm glad you know all about your family. That's wonderful! Not all of us are so lucky. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I also saw the graves of Willcocksons. I am a member of the Boone Society. Living in Louisville, I have access to the Filson Historical Society. The genealogist there is also a descendant of Sarah's and John's. She introduced me to the book, "The Wilcoxsons." This book tells of William "Red" Wilcoxson (he had red hair) and the reason he was called Red was because his cousin was also named William and he was known as William "Black" Wilcoxson (he had black hair). This book also lists one of William's daughter as Rachel and that she married a John Tibbs. John died in 1836 /- and then Rachel married Emory Clymer. After she married Mr. Clymer, she and her husband lived in Hart County, KY (she lived in Barren County with Mr. Tibbs). The Hart County Court House burned, not once, but twice; destroying all the records. However, I got all the records from Glasgow (Barren County) Kentucky, showing Mr. Tibbs will, and the marriage certificate of her and Emory Clymer. I also got the transfer of property from her son, George Emory Clymer, to his half brother William J. Tibbs, when George turned 21 on his birthday, January 1, 1861. Rachel died in 1856 or 57 I can't remember which at the moment. Because he (George Emory) had inherited some of his mother's property, he could only own a portion of her land and the other portions were to be given back to her children with Mr. Tibbs. In this Wilcoxson book, my ancestors are listed. You have not told me where you live, have you? Are you relatively close to Louisville? You can check out the book there. As it is of Kentucky historical interest, I doubt you can find it outside of Kentucky. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am open to any proof of this relationship. All I have found so far shows no proof that this William is the son of John and Sarah. If William and Daniel Wilcoxson were brothers, then that could explain why there could be a descendant bearing the Boone name because Daniel Boone was certainly no stranger to this group of Wilcoxsons. I need more proof than someone 2 or three generations away naming a child Boone. Please share the proof you have. I only want to know who the "real" parents are. I could care less if he is a direct descendant of the Boones. I am only interested in proving my direct line even if they were horse thieves, cattle rustlers, etc. Unlike you, I can be swayed (not by assumptions), but by proof. Have you checked the old records in Rowan and Wilkes County where this family lived in the earlier years? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
