Can anyone tell me where on a current map where Blue Spring Grove is? Also on a 1784 map from KHS, a place called Blue Spring is shown between Little and Big Barren Rivers south of Green River. It is the intersection of three tails. Is that the present Glasgow? If not what is it called today? Sorry for the delay in getting back with on, but i had been on vacation. I believe that Jeremiah was Dradith's brother also. I do know that Avery had 2 sons listed on the 1830 census. I believe these son's to be Jeremiah and John. On these census their last names are spelled 'Cazee'. I have a list from Ancestry that shows John Kozee was born in 1830. If this is true then Jeremiah would more then likely be the oldest because on the 1840 census, A.(Avery) Cazee is listed a having only 1 son and 4 daughters. There is a Jer. Cazee and (I assume his wife), are listed on the 1840 census. I have traced Jeremiah from Carter co, to Lawrence co., to Johnson Co. KY. Dradith has been harder to trace. Her name is not mentioned anywhere, until the 1850 census, where it shows her married to John Jordan. Their childre are listed as: Fleming, Elisha, Jeremiah, and Elizebeth Jordan. John Jordan dies in 1852, about 6 months before their 5th and last child is born. They had 5 children total. Elizabeth, their only girl was my great grandmother. By 1860 Dradith had remarried to a Robert Griffith who also was a widower with several children. On the 1860 Census the children, except for the oldest son and the youngest son, were living with relatives. Elizabeth, age 12 was living with Avery and his wife Elizabeth. Elisha was living with Francis Kezee, the widow of John Kezee, ( whom I believe to be Dradiths brother). Jeremiah was living with John and Phoebe Hix's house. Phoebe I believe was Dradith's sister. Phoebe was born in 1841. Dradith's name, as with the name Kazee, has been hard to trace because of the various spellings. Dradith has been spelled, Dradith, Druda, Juda, Dready. Elizabeth Jordan was living back with Robert and Dradith on the 1870 Census. She has an illigimate son, whom she named James Jordan. She married my great grandfather, Thomas Campbell in 1872. They had only one daughter from what I can tell. They named her Dready, after Elizabeth's mother. I know this is a lot of info and some you may not need. I hope I have helped some. If you have any additional information I would would welcome it very much. Thanks Cheryl cherleadford@aol.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. From Sherri - Please be advised that the KYGenWeb Project, a proud member of the USGenWeb Project has moved its website to a new hosting service. During this change (hopefully no more than 24 hours until they find us), you may get a "Page Not Found" or other errors when trying to access the site. Because we were already using our own domain, http://kygenweb.net, your links and bookmarks won't need to be changed. Once the web crawlers go crawling through the name servers, they'll once again find us at our new home. Several of the KYGenWeb county sites, including many south central KY area sites have moved and some others are also in the process of moving their sites with the state site or to other servers of their choice. We also ask you to please pardon our dust while the moves are in progress. We may suffer some broken links, but, will be working to repair them as quickly as possible. Thank you for your time and patience with us during this period of time. We look forward to working with you in your research and contributions to the KYGenweb Project. 3. I am requesting that any discussion about rootsweb/ancestry.com not be discussed on the list. I am aware of the situation and not one bit concerned about it. I know some web pages are moving to different servers, this was the choice of those who maintain those pages. Ancestry.com, The Geneations Network, etc are not going to steal my data or anyone else's, they are not going to sell it. Rootsweb is free and will remain so. I am not personally in favor of moving sites to different servers but I had no say so in the decision and am not upset with those who decided to make changes. I just do not find it necessary to discuss this on the list which is a rootsweb list. Rootsweb has supported us free of charge for many years and made it possible to find a place for county and speciality boards, lists ..... and more. So please take any discussion off-list or I will have to put the list on moderation - meaning I will need to approve messages before they are posted. I am expecting to continue posting to my various lists and boards for many years to come - you will not have to make any changes to your posts or addresses. Trust me, please. 2. Wayne Hatcher
    3. Bonnie, I have done some research on the Stilts family. I am not positive I can answer your question, but I will offer a theory as to who the person you are inquiring about, Elizabeth J. Stilts. I am thinking it could be Elizabeth Jane Stilts born Oct 1877 in Metcalfe Co to James Thomas Stilts (1856-1910) and Mary Ann Clark (1840-1922). They also had three other girls, Viola, Lula and Flora B. James Thomas & Mary Ann had ties in Green Co. Ky Mary Ann was the daughter of John Clark and Mary Slinker. Mary Ann is buried in the Wallace Cem. I hope this helps. Let me know what you think. 1. Re: [KYBARREN] JOHNSON in Kentucky
    2. M. Knight
    3. In the 1910 census for Warren Co., KY, Bristow Dist., William W. Johnson, age 79, was living with his daughter, Willie B. (Johnson) Hayes, age 51, and her husband, Thomas J. Hayes, age 58. If you need the details of that census, let me know. In the 1920 census for Warren Co., Bristow Dist., Thomas "Hay" and Willie are living next to son Trenton and his wife, but William W. Johnson is not in their household. You mention that he died in 1929 and is buried in Warren Co., KY, so I was trying to find William's death record on several databases that I have access to, but no luck yet. I thought it might give you more info. Did William and Harriet marry in Warren Co.? I'm assuming they did, since I find Harriet "Patillow" with her parents (Davis and Mahala) in the 1850 census for Warren Co., KY, enumerated 2 August 1850. Here's my theory for the parents of your William W. Johnson............... In the 1850 census for Butler Co., KY, there is this family, and it appears that the wife is significantly younger than her husband, and also there is an age gap between the children, but there is a Polly Ann and a William Johnson, and you said that your William Johnson was born in Butler County, Ky. So, try this and see what you think.........: 1850 census, Butler Co., Ky, 20 August, dwelling 330: Thomas Johnson, 48, wheelwright, b. unknown Lucinda Johnson, 26, b. KY William Johnson, 19, wheelwright, b. KY Polly A. Johnson, 17, b. KY Carrolton Johnson, 10, b. KY Nancy Johnson, 9, b. KY Elisabeth Johnson, 6, b. KY Lucy Johnson, 5, b. KY Martha Johnson, 3, b. KY John Johnson, 1, b. KY 1. The age of the wife Lucinda would indicate that she was a 2nd wife. 2. Clearly there is a 7 year gap between the ages of William and Polly before the next child, Carrolton, was born, which would indicate to me that Lucinda was a 2nd wife, and her first child was Carrolton. In the 1860 census of Butler Co., I don't find William Johnson that fits in that county. Who knows? Could be he moved to Warren Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John D. 2. John D. Sissom
    3. Researchers, I know some names are more difficult to research than others. In spite of that, I am looking for information on JOHNSON. Anyone care to join in? Actually I am looking for the parents of William Whitman Johnson, born November 19, 1830, in Butler County, Kentucky, married Harriet Ann (Pattillo) Gillmore on January 16, 1855. Harriet S. Pattillo, the daughter of Davis Jackson Pattillo and Mahala D. Smith and the widow of Mr. Gillmore, was born May 28, 1835, in Kentucky. Harriet had married Mr. Gillmore four years earlier, but he only lived three weeks. It is said he was caught working in a field by the rain and due to the exposure had a relapse of Measles and died. We found William Whitman Johnson in the 1860 Warren County, Kentucky, census records. Family No. 1135, page 125, shows that he was a miller then. Family records indicate that the first child of William Whitman Johnson and Harriet S. Pattillo was a girl born October 31, 1855, who did not live. Polly Ann Johnson was a sister to William Whitman Johnson. There were only the two children when the mother died and the father remarried and had three boys and two girls. We do not know any of the names at this time. Children of William Whitman Johnson and Harriet S. Pattillo are: Mahala Jane Johnson, born October 4, 1856, married T. H. Bunch, November 28, 1873. Laura Bell Willie Bird Martha Duke Pocahontas (Willie Bird) Johnson, (no kidding, that is her name) born August 11, 1858, married Thomas J. Hayes, December 16, 1875. Julia Ann Johnson, born March 17, 1860, married Thomas L. Hendrich, May 29, 1878. The 1860 census record shows this child as Naomi. William Thomas Johnson, born April 18, 1861. He was known by the family as Uncle Tiddler, or Uncle Tid. Harriet R. (Hattie P.) Johnson born January 8, 1864, married John A. Jackson, September 6, 1882, at Dodd City, Fannin County, Texas Alice B. Johnson, the child of William Whitman Johnson and Harriet S. Pattillo was born March 16, 1866, married Nathan Merideth, January 5, 1888. Sarah Ellen Johnson, born February 14, 1868, married W.H. Phillips, April 14, 1889. She was known by the family as Aunt Jimpie. Davis Jackson Johnson, born March 1, 1870, married Lula Burnett, November 14, 1894. Trentie Duke Johnson, born December 1, 1871, married George W. Hayes, October 2, 1889. Leonard Alfred Johnson, born March 24, 1874, married Florence Rabold, December 30, 1903.. Lois Elizabeth Johnson, married Dr. Cecil O. Garton, son of Martin Braswell Garton. William Whitman Johnson died December 20, 1929, at Sunnyside, Warren County, Kentucky. He was buried at the Samuel Hays Burying Ground. I have yet to locate said cemetery. Thanks, John
