I want to extend my deepest appreciation for all of you who remembered my family and me in the loss of my precious mother. I cannot express in words how much you have touched my heart with your kind words. Many of you expressed a deep understanding of what I was going through due to the loss of your mother or father, some very recently. Your prayers and concern helped me so much. And, some expressed so wonderfully the special bond between a daughter and her mother. God bless you all! I wish I could answer each and every message I received; there were way over 300 plus cards in the mail. The services were comforting if not exciting as, well ... Mom didn't like storms (thought she never admitted it!). We had to re-arrange things a bit as we were hit with a dandy thunder storm as we went to the cemetery. But many braved the elements to be with us and that meant a lot. My youngest daughter and her fiance' were able to make it for the services, driving 16 hours to get here - through even worse storms; they are now safely back in their home state. My oldest daughter and husband were not able to get here in time but will be coming for a Celebration of Life service in early June. Now, the paperwork begins (and has begun) with a lot to keep me busy (and confused likely!) but in three weeks my youngest gal will be married and I will be flying there for the wonderful event. Her fiance' was a tower of strength for us - our family is very small. Monday I will begin my normal posting schedule; I need to do it! Today, I am going to catch up on posting obituaries, and surprisingly, it does not bother me to do that. I loved my Mom ever so dearly; she is safe and sound and I can hear her saying: "Now Sandra, you get your rest and do what you have to do, I'm ok." Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart! Sandi Sandi's Puzzlers: http://www.gensoup.org/gorinpuzzles/index.php
I am getting ready to rest awhile, all arrangements have been made. I want to thank each and every one of you who are writing; each message is cherished. I know most of you have gone through what I am going through right now. My youngest daughter and fiance are 13 hours away, on the road; my oldest daughter and husband will be here later for a Memorial Service. God bless you all for your compassion. Mom's obituary can be found at: http://www.hatchersaddler.com/new/index.php/2011/04/mabel-guenevere-laughery/ This is how I remember Mom, not as her frail body was today. Mom went to be with the Lord about 5 minutes ago. I'm on my way to the nursing home. God give her the peace she so badly needed. Sandi
I'm holding off on my posts today day tho I posted to KYbios and Memories. Mom is nearing death; I spent all day and again late last night with her. I've had very little sleep and will be leaving shortly. As all of you know who have gone through this - one is exhausted mentally and physically. So - for at least today and maybe longer, I'll be back. Sandi Sandi's Puzzlers: http://www.gensoup.org/gorinpuzzles/index.php
