For those of you who are patiently waiting: I started going through and copying the Anderson County Marriage Bonds that somehow have never been added to the marriage index. I did double check a couple of the entries this morning. Of the ones that I checked one bond was listed in the index the rest were not. Why some of them were indexed and some not is a mystery. Which leads me to wonder if there are more than just this one box. Anyway I discovered that this box contains bonds from 1837 until the early 1850's. And believe it or not I came across a marriage bond that I have been looking for, that was not in the index. What I'm planning on doing is to photocopy all the bonds, place them in a binder in cover sheets, and when I'm all finished with the copying, then I will index them by both the groom's and brides names. When the project is completed I will leave the notebooks (yes, there will be more than one) including the index at the county clerks office. Hopefully, when people come to do research they will use the photocopies and not the originals as they are in very fragile condition. I am copying all the papers included with each bond, so there should not be any reason to look through the originals. Bear with me as this project is going to take a little time. Sincerely, Shelby
