My ancestors who were early settlers in Nelson County were Stranges and Ashes who came from Maryland around 1786. One of the women was Anastasia Bird Medley who was the daughter of John Medley and Frances Bird. Is this the same Bird family, and if so where can I find information on them? Also, is the Daviess from Ky. the one Daviess County, Indiana was named for. That is where my Stranges and Ashes went when they left Ky. My maternal great-grandmother was Margaret Ellen Strange who was born in Martin County, Indiana which is next to Daviess County. Bonnie Barnes Worley
