I am a descendant of what appears to be the same Hughes family. However, despite finding two Graysons among them, I cannot fit your man into the family. Do you know when he died? Do you know if he had been married previously? I have an undocumented claim that a Grayson Hughes born ca. 1831 married a cousin Susan Hughes, whom I have not been able to identify.
