    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Murphy, House, Phillips, Langford Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UAB.2ACE/1503.1.3.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi, I have Murphy's from Anderson and Spencer counties in my family tree. Samuel Murphy born in 1807 married Lucinda House in Jefferson County in 1834. On the 1850 census they were living in Anderson County and had 9 children, Lucinda, John, Mahala J., Elizabeth, Mary Ann Perlina, E., Almira, Lucinda and Sarah. In 1860 They were living in Spencer County and had 4 more children. Eleanor,Nancy Emily, Eliza and Samuel. John married Rose Sutt, Mahala married Alexander McAllister, Elizabeth married Nelvin Ford, Perlina married Nicholas Sutt, Mary married Fielding Hortenbury Lucinda married John Bruner, Sarah maried John Bruner, James married Sarah Simpson, Nancy Emily ( my connection to the Murphies) married Benjamin Thomas Langford, Samuel married Frances Wolford. I think Samuel died in Spencer County in 1875 and Lucinda died sometime after 1880. The Hortenburys, Fords and Sutts are all living near Samuel Murphy on the 1870 census and Elizabeth is living with daughter Eliz! a on the 1880 census. Samuel is my brick wall. I have not been able to connect him to any siblings or find his parents. On the 1870 census his parentage is marked as both parents being foreign born. I would appreciate any information anyone has for him. Gloria
