I added it to my scrapbook....Yes I believe this was Wm H.'s mother but wonder why in the world he didn't know her parents names, etc or perhaps the person taking the information didn't ask him for more than the info given....makes you nuts doesn't it. Would you have any idea who the Elizabeth Murphywas, or where she may have died that was on the 1850 Census in Anderson Co.? Her age was given as 32 md to Brice Murphy age 35...I believe this has to be my line because they have Nancy age 14 in their home....this would make her the right age for my Nancy Murphy md to Wm Cummings. I believe they were in Shelby Co., KY.by 1896 because their son Brice Enos Cummings married in their house. MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE "THIS IS TO CERTIFY, That on the 24th day of DECEMBER, 1896, the RITES OF MATRIMONY were legally solemnized by me between MR. SHAW ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MARRIAGE BOND The Commonwealth of Kentucky "Be it known that we ENOS CUMMINGS as principle and T.S. "The Condidtion of this BOND is as Follows: That, whereas a Marriage is intended to be Solemnized between the above bound, ENOS CUMMINGS and EVA BLAND." Now, if there is not lasful eeuse to obstruct said Marriage, this Bond shall be void; Otherwise it sall remain in full force and effect. DATED at SHELBYVILLE, KY...County this 21st day of DECEMBER, 1896 SIGNED, ENOS CUMMINGS his mark (X) T.S. SUMMERS ATTEST: E.J. Doss, Clerk, County Court ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Back of MARRIAGE BOND: MALE 1. Date of Marriage, DECEMBER 24, 1896 2. Name of Groom, ENOS CUMMINGS 3. Residence of Groom, CROPPER, KY 4. Age of Groom, 21 YEARS 5. Number of Marriages for Groom, 1ST 6. Occupation, FARMER 7. Birthplace of Groom, SHELBY CO., KY 8. Birthplace of Groom's, Father, ANDERSON CO., KY 9. Birthplace of Groom's, Mother, ANDERSON, CO., KY FEMALE 10. Name of Bride, EVA BLAND 11. Residence of Bride, BAGDAD 12. Age of Bride, 21 YEARS 13. Number of Marriages for Bride, 1ST 14. Birthplace of Bride, SHELBY CO., KY 15. Birthplace of Bride's Father, UNKNOWN 16. Birthplace of Bride's Mother, UNKNOWN 17. Remarks, NONE To be Married at the residence of Bride's Mother, on the 24th of DECEMBER, 1896. I Certify that the above is correct to the best of my knowledge and belief. WITNESS my hand, the 21st day of December, 1896. SIGNED, ENOS CUMMINGS -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SOMETHING MUST HAVE HAPPENED...BECAUSE If you look at the marriage date...December 25th and in the newspaper and back of the marriage bond...it says they were to be married on the 24th of Dec, 1896 at the bride's mother's house...but they married the next day at the groom's father's home....I know that Eva Mae Bland's father was dead by the time of her marriage his name was John Duncan Bland who married Matlida Rodgers/Rogers..why she didn't list that info on her bond is anyone's guess. Marsha.
