Surnames: William Jackson Perry line Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UAB.2ACE/1743 Message Board Post: In the 1860 KY Anderson Co. census, I came across William Jackson Perry and his wife Cahterine, who at this time were 69 and 70 respectively; living with what appears to be other families. I don't know exactly how to describe this but it looks like a home for people with limited options. Here is the list: William & Catherine Perry ages 69 and 70 their youngest son Christopher who was 27 some one named Francis Perry age 19 Then there was Benjamin Faremano (?) aged 56 a Margaret Faremano (?) aged 68 Benjamin Faremano aged 18 George Faremano aged 14 William E. Peters aged 61 Agnes Peters aged 58 Louise Peters aged 28 Lucy S. Peters aged 26 Julia A. Peters aged 24 Living next door to this group was another Peters family William and his wife Mary aged 28 and 26 It looks like to me that there was William and Catherine would at their age could have been infirm, and Benjamin and Margaret who could be infirm, and William and Agnes who could have been infirm, and for each pair there were some young folks to care for them. Does anyone else have any suggestions as to what could have been going on here? Penny Perry Kenmore, Wa
Yep I agree there is another Perry family in Anderson Co. I would like to suggest that a page for the William Jackson Perry family be established on the Anderson County gen web page and a separate page for the other Perry family. That way we could start separating them into their correct family group. I know several of us are related to the William Jackson Perry tree and I would like to work with you and come to some consensus as to how to handle some of the conflicts in data. Returning to your e-mail Bob, in an e-mail from Kim on 19 June 2003, she writes the Perry-Herndon connection came from Spotslyvania County, Va. I am assuming that Kim is related to the William Jackson Perry tree. I also rec'd an e-mial from Jill who says she has traced the William Jackson Perry tree back to Va, via Williams wife Catherine Young. Out here on the West Coast I am at a disadvantage, I can only explore things that are on web sites, in books from interlibrary loan, or from the Family History Library. I have only figured out in the last couple of months, that the William Jackson tree is probably rooted somewhere in Western Anderson Co. over by Shelby and Spencer Co. Previous to this if I had found a Perry over by Buzzards Roost airport I would not have known that it was probably another family. Paula, Kim, and Bob) Have been studying the Perry family for a while, found a conflict that I am hoping you all can help me with. According to the 1830, 1840, and 1850 census Mary Perry was born in 1829 as was Berry Perry. But I find no evidence anywhere that there was a set of twins born in this family. Another well known source states that Mary was born in 1834. Does anyone have any more information? Or how are you treating this conflict in this family line? Thanks Penny Perry Kenmore, WA
