Can anyone identify EH Springate, Sr 1880-1915 for me? Have a few possibilities in my Springate index but can't place him? SPRINGATE, EH, SR, 1880-1915 SPRINGATE, EH, Jr, 1905-1910
Thanks to all who told me CSA means. I wasn't sure and that also proves it wasn't the person I was hoping it was. He would have been to old to serve in the Confederate Army. Roberta
Hi Rosie, Can you tell me what (CSA) means that follows the name on the tombstone? Thanks. Roberta
Thank you so much -- these lists are very valuable to those of us who live at a great distance from the graves of our ancestors. Most of what I have found so far on them has then residing in or near Gradyville,Columbia, Adair Co, Ky. They later moved to Louisville, Jefferson Co., Ky Father from Mexico: I have a few of the sons names: Charlesb.abt 1880, Robert, Woodrow, Samuel, George b.abt. 1873, Jefferson. Since I have been trying to get info on the family thru great grand daughters of Amanda and Charles Franklin. They say all of the boys were named after US Presidents. There were they think 2 girls but I am unable to make that link. Amanda Bohanan b.abt 1881 d.1954 had remarried a Charles Moore. Amanda md. Charles Franklin b.1881 d.abt1931. Charles spoke both english and spanish. His Father was born in Mexico.. Charles and Amanda had atleast 10 children. Josie b.1903, Margaret b.1904, Herbert b.1909, Erma b.1910, Buford b.1914, Carl b.1917, Corrine b.1919, ( the next 2 are a set of twins )Julius B b.aft. 1920, Amanda, and Nathaniel b.1925. My husband is a grandson to Erma Franklin who married into Sneed family. I hope you have a link here. I would very much like to learn more on these family members.

Surnames: Harmon/Burton Settles/Moore Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UAB.2ACE/1762.1.1.3.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Info most interested in: John W. Harmon b.abt 1861 md. Susan Burton, daughter of Matthew Burton. She was b. abt 1862....'Seems my J.W.Harmon appeared from no where. The closest I can get too is they md abt 1890. I know of their children and the first was Louis Harmon b. 8/1891. So many John Harmons, I cant find the correct lead on this one. Cant find an obituary either. Rumor says he was a sheriff and was shot to his death in a gun battle 5/1908 in Central City Ky but I have no confirmation that this is the John Harmon I am researching. The other name would be Clara Agnes Moore b.1900 in or near Marion Co, Ky. Clara md. Charles Edgar Settles abt. 1917, She gave birth to 13 children. Found in Census as daughter to Robert Buckman and Catherine Moore Buckman. Catherine was in her late 50s at said time of this birth. Family story is told that she was possibly the child of a sister, Annie Moore or even adopted. Clara died when my father was a small child so no family info to go on. Thank you for your kindness to provide help. It is greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me direct.
