Archives page: <http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ky/washington/washington.html>. I'm not sure that it is the right John Combs, but I suspect it is; a Searcy did witness some of the documents anyway, and the chronology fits. The e-mail address of the lady who submitted the documents, a John Combs descendant I believe, is also listed. Birchell Coslow Washington Co. Archives Coordinator

    2. I believe the Jacksonville, FL library has some, if not all, of the KY census films. If you have some patience and there are films available, I could peruse the 1850 to start. Let me know if you have had any other responses. Pamela Bane [email protected]

There is an 1830-1840-1850 Anderson Co. census compilation available for purchase. Details at: <http://members.aol.com/cbc174/andbooks.htm>. However, I haven't seen any for subsequent years listed though. Unfortunately, we don't have any volunteers formally identified for Anderson County look-ups -- maybe someday <sigh>. So, hopefully a kind person will help you out on this one. Birchell Coslow

A "teamster" ca 1900 would have driven a team, probably of horses or mules although earlier it might have been oxen as well, for the purpose of hauling freight. Modern "teamsters" drive those huge trucks we see on the highway (and sometimes use CB radios). 1. [KYANDERS-L] Temporary Down Time
    2. Ted and Natalie Matthews
    3. Dear Listers, I enjoy subbing to the Anderson Co. list as much of my history is associated there. I live in PA and my family is moving to a farm and my time for genealogy will be much less for the next month...with a down time the last week or so of this month. I will resub with this list in July. If anyone has a question about my surnames or wants to connect, just e-mail me personally. I'm just unsubbing from all of my lists but will receive personal contacts throughout. I'm so excited that this list is growing! Keep up the good work! Natalie Matthews [email protected] Searching for theses surnames in Anderson Co.: Bates, Carlisle, McQuiddy, Sawyer, Ryan, Hancock, Farrar, Black and Ransdell.
