Will you let the whole list know what you find out??? Thanks Judy Lloyd
Does anyone know if Beers and Co. made an atlas of Anderson County in the late 1800s showing the names of the residents? If so, does anyone know how I might obtain one? Thanks in advance, Pam
Does any body know where this cemetary is? I can't remember where somebody told me this was. Hope you can help. Personal reply to [email protected] Thanks.

For those of you who are patiently waiting: I started going through and copying the Anderson County Marriage Bonds that somehow have never been added to the marriage index. I did double check a couple of the entries this morning. Of the ones that I checked one bond was listed in the index the rest were not. Why some of them were indexed and some not is a mystery. Which leads me to wonder if there are more than just this one box. Anyway I discovered that this box contains bonds from 1837 until the early 1850's. And believe it or not I came across a marriage bond that I have been looking for, that was not in the index. What I'm planning on doing is to photocopy all the bonds, place them in a binder in cover sheets, and when I'm all finished with the copying, then I will index them by both the groom's and brides names. When the project is completed I will leave the notebooks (yes, there will be more than one) including the index at the county clerks office. Hopefully, when people come to do research they will use the photocopies and not the originals as they are in very fragile condition. I am copying all the papers included with each bond, so there should not be any reason to look through the originals. Bear with me as this project is going to take a little time. Sincerely, Shelby

Hi Rev. Shockley, This is really nice of you to do, I have wanted to visit this cemetery for a long time and check the early records of the church, if they are available or the membership lists. I am looking to prove that Lewis P. Corbin was in Shelby County in 1860 evidently the census taker overlooked the area they were in. Also a Joshua Brown who married Elizabeth Hulette. If I make the trip up there is there any membership lists available? Thanks for your help, BEv Wyman

I now have the capability of doing the Anderson County lookups of marriage, wills and deeds from my home. (These are free) One thing came to light a couple of weeks ago that you should be aware of if researching in Anderson County. The marriage bonds from the period of approximately 1842 until approximately 1850 are NOT indexed. These bonds are loose, but are sorted by year. Therefore, if I have previously done a lookup for you and said that the marriage bond was not in Anderson County I may have been wrong. I can do these lookups, but will have to charge my hourly rate to search through the bonds during the above time period. It shouldn't take long, depending on the number of marriage bonds, but it is necessary to carefully open each and every bond ( and they are getting brittle) If, I can be of any help with questions, etc. let me know. Sincerely, Shelby Williams

Case (b.1740) buried at the Dennis Family Graveyard, located in Anderson Co. on Puncheon Creek Road near KY 53, no burial info on Lydia. (The cemetery was in Washington Co. until 1890.) It was transcribed in 1975, and the results published in Mercer County Cemeteries, vol VII, p. 127, and in Washington County Cemeteries, vol 2, p.143. I have the cited Mercer County volume -- it lists Separate and Lydia's son Seperate (b.1790) and wife Elizabeth, and those two are the only Case burials listed. It doesn't mean that Seperate Sr. and Lydia aren't there, of course. I -- unfortunately -- don't have a copy of the Washington Co. book, although I'd be much surprised if it were substantially different. Birchell Coslow -- ===================== Anderson Co. Good morning! I have seen information stating that Seperate CASE, b. 1740 in VA, d. ca 1803-08, was buried in Puncheon Creek, in Anderson County. Can anyone confirm this? Has the cemetary where he is buried been transcribed? Also, is his wife Lydia/Lidia MOORE, d. ca 1815, buried there as well? Are death dates listed for both?? Any assistance will be gratefully received. Donna Walker, [email protected] RootsWeb Sponsor Plus MOLDT-L, STAPLETON-L, STOWERS-L List Manager

KYANDERS-L is archived on RootsWeb as you may already know. The new threaded archive for this group is at http://archiver.rootsweb.com/KYANDERS-L/ Read the message below about the fact that a cookie gets set. I know that many people (including me) are suspicious of cookies, but as you can see, they do serve a purpose. I trust RootsWeb not to misuse them, and am glad they are making every effort to keep the e-mail address harvesters out of the system. The process is invisible to list subsubscribers (except on the very rare occasion when a sneaky one slips through), but RootsWeb already does a bang-up job of intercepting SPAM messages headed for its lists. The old archives are still accessible at http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=KYANDERS Note that the -L is needed for the new archiver, and is omitted from the old one. Replace KYANDERS with other names for the other lists you want to see. Birchell Coslow KYANDERS ListHost > > NEWS AND NOTES FROM ROOTSWEB > > THREADED LIST ARCHIVES ARE NOW AVAILABLE. I am trying to find information of Feathergail HUTCHERSON (1802-1833) and Emily D. BROWN. They married December 20, 1825 Garrard Co., KY. Emily was the daughter of Arabia Jackson BROWN, Jr. (1785-1854) and Nancy McKinsey (1787-1854). I believe Feathergail HUTCHERSON may have been the father of my g-g grandfather, Arabia HUTCHISON. Arabia HUTCHISON was b. ca. 1829 Garrard Co., KY and in the 1850 Census for Anderson Co., KY he is listed as 21 years old and residing with the family of Livingston HAWKINS. Any help appreciated!
