The Chambers family I belong to was in Allen Co for a short time. Thomas Chambers of Rockingham Co NC came to Allen Co Ky about 1810 . He died about 1823 Allen Co. His first wife was Phoebe who died sometime before 1810. Their children were: 1) Elinor 'Nellie" Chambers m. Charles Hancock 1807 Rockingham Co NC and migrated to Allen, Simpson and Hancock Co KY 2) unknown male 3) Lucy Chambers who m. Thomas Oliver 1819 Allen Co KY and migrated to Maries & Gascounde Co MO. Two of their children (John Shelby Oliver and Thomas C. Oliver) returned to Allen Co. 4) William Chambers m. Sallie McReynolds 1825 Allen Co and migrated to Hickman Co KY and maybe then to KS - he is an ignima 5) Lucinda Chambers m. 1) Frederick Carpenter 1822 Sumner Co TN and 2) Leonard Kirby 1853 Allen Co KY Thomas Chamber's 2nd wife was Francis. Their children were: 6) Frederick Chambers m. Matilda Sutton 1830 Allen Co KY and migrated to Green Co MO 7) Jincy Chambers m. Richard Horn 1833 Logan Co KY and migrated to Cass & Saline Co MO. One son Rev. George Washington Horn was a prominient Methodist Espiscal bishop and another son Givens Horn road with Quantrill's Raiders during the Civil Worn (as did the James Brothers and Younger Brothers who became infamous outlaws). Givens returned to Henry Co KY and taught school the reminder of his life. George W. Horn's son Paul Winfield Horn graduated college at age 16 and was the first president of what is now Texas Tech University. The only Chambers descendants of this family in Allen Co are those who descend from daughters Elinor Chambers Hancock and Lucy Chambers Oliver. Sorry we don't have a connection. Mine lived there just before moving to TX in 1900. I have very little about this family before that time.
