Hi Mimi, When you click on the paf icon on your desktop it should automatically install the program on your computer. Then when you go to the file to open it, the program should allow you to open and read it. Good Luck. Moments ago I clicked the icon on my desktop to see what it looked like. Now.....I need to figure out how to use it in order to view the large file another researcher emailed me. I have no idea what he emailed me. Probably a file for our shared ancestral surname. that particular line on my maternal side goes back to Italy and Spain so I do not know if what he sent connects to my line or not? I figured It wouldn't hurt to look and see though. Anyway.....I now need to figure out what to do with his file? What to click or whatever? I'm about to wear out the, Google Language Tool that translates from one language to another but at this rate, it'll be another 45 yeas before I've translated this huge file! When I tried to open another one of his files, it wouldn't open and I got a message saying, "WINDOWS CAN NOT OPEN THIS FILE" and I have no idea what to do in order to open the file. Using handy dandy Google translate tool again, I emailed the person in Mexico and told them about the problem. This file apparently goes all the way back to some of my earliest ancestors, (not from Kentucky - sorry), who migrated to the North American continent in the 1800's, and I would like to read the file!
