Is anyone searching the descendants of Luther Porter? If so, who was his wife and/or mother? I am researching the Segraves family and in 1842, 4 heirs of Rebecca Segraves sold 120 acres to Luther Porter for $2 each their share. He paid $8 for 120 acres. Typically when land is sold this cheaply its a transfer of land between family members as a token. Conversely, in 1843 Thomas Segraves paid $100 to his aunt Sally Segraves for 12 acres.
