The only two Stinson's that I have knowledge of is My great grandmother Nancy Margaret Stinson born may 12, 1844 in TN died Sept 1, 1921 buried in Oak Forest No 2 cemetery in Allen Co Ky. The other one is her father Wesley Stinson and he was born about 1808 in Ky according to my info. That is all the info I have. If you have something to add that would be great. I found a number of Stinsons in my records. They came in after my great-grand aunt, Nancy Leah Patterson married King Loving Finn and their granddaughter, Bertha Finn married Clarence Stinson. I can't find Clarence in the census records - I found Bertha in 1920 prior to her marriage about 1921. My records on these lines were probably what I got from Don Goad Ancientred@aol.com years ago. I don't know if he's still with us but I haven't been able to contact him in recent years. What is strange is that their son Charles Stinson took the surname Freeland - he was born Jan. 27, 1928, according to my records. I can't find him in KY birth records on on the 1930 census, either. Same goes for son Edward. I do have their sons Billie W. (Feb. 2, 1922 in Allen County) and Leslie P. (Sept. 27. 1924 in Simpson County) In addition to anyone researching Pattersons, especially the children of Neil William (often goes by William) Patterson, born May 24, 1824 in Smith County, Tenn. and his wives Mahulda Grenad/Grenade etc. and Mary Polly Austin, a warning - there is no continuity on whether the children were born in Smith County or in Simpson County, KY. It is totally baffling. I'm from Mahulda/Huldy's line through her daughter Mahulda/Huldy Patterson, wife of the very strange Atwood Willoughby. I believe Huldy Patterson was born on the day her mother died, therefore the youngest of that brood of six children. Her stepmother Mary Polly Austin raised her, and she was very close to her brother Levi Austin Patterson, who lived with her and her husband and family in Union County, KY - that's in the 1880 census. Huldy was born in 1853 and Neil William Patterson wasted to time marrying Mary Polly Austin - Can't find a trace of her afterward. I am updating my information on Tribal Pages and you may wish to consult that at http://marthahardcastl.tribalpages.com - It's just a small tweak - I hope to have the tweak done in a few hours. or email me at Mothra@woh.rr.com or call me at 937.836.1657. I have free calling, so if you don't, email me with your phone number and I'll call you back. I would appreciate any feedback on Tribal Pages. I use Ancestry.com etc. also, but I really like the format on Tribal Pages.
