    3. Thanks, Sharon - I, too wish we had more posts here. My families "crossed the line" of Warren and Allen continuously. My grandfather was the postmaster at Settle and he led the singing at Friendship Baptist Church. My email box may be "cluttered" with forwards - mostly cutesy animals and highly political tomes - but to me, genealogy is never clutter. I check for clues and if none are there, I graciously delete. I'm thankful for active posters. Martha fmlytracer@aol.com wrote: > Folks, > > Undoubtedly some of you are subbed to some email lists that discourage postings.?? > >

    3. My parents went across the line from Sumner County into Allen county in 1932 to be married. I have always wondered why. Does anyone have any idea why they would choose Allen County? 1. Re: [KYALLEN] (no subject) - marriages across state lines
    2. Sweeny, You will find many couples from Allen and Simpson Co KY who married in Sumner Co KY and vice versa.? The reasons could have been any of the following: 1) They eloped and didn't want anyone at the courthouse or in the county?to know they tied the knot until it was a done deal - the grapevine traveled faster than phones 2) They eloped and didn't want anyone at the courthouse or in the county?to know they tied the knot until it was a done deal.- the grapevine traveled faster than phones 3) repeat of the above :) 4) One of the couple ?had friends or family in the area 5) It was closer to one courthouse than the other You will also find couples that crossed the county lines from Allen into Warren, Barren, Simpson, Monroe, etc to marry and the reverse. -----Original Message----- From: june <hjfore@windstream.net> To: kyallen@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, 29 Jan 2009 10:39 am Subject: [KYALLEN] (no subject) My parents went across the line from Sumner County into Allen county in 1932 to be married.
