Just a minor detail, if anyone is tracking this family. There is a small error in this obit.?? T.Y. is acutally TY.? The letters are not initials - just 2 capital letters that don't mean anything - per him.? I have always thought he was named for great-uncle Thoughty Yessie Oliver, but he always adamently insisted "No periods". Martha, Several things for you. First, I am Not from the Hardcastle lines. (Yet) My family was there from the beginning in the late 1700's as Long Hunters and then part of the mass migration after the Rev. War. I have 19 surnames from Warren County alone and some from Allen, Barren, Logan, Simpson, Butler and Edmonson Co's.. I knew many different Hardcastle people when I was much younger as neighbors and members of my family's Churches. I am actually a "Yankee" from Michigan but, spent a great deal of time there from the time of my birth which was a few moons ago. My entire family is from there and buried there. They also covered all corners of Warren Co.. As far as the site is concerned, it was started by Lloyd Raymer, a noted genealogist from Anna, Ky., near Richardsville and Sandhill. Lloyd is an expert on the whole region and there are several more "Cousins" that share great knowledge. As I said before, we are all related in one way or another. Lloyd give up as the Admin. of the site but is still active. We are a good bunch and pretty folksy. I'll send you an invite if you will promise to list your surnames and take an active part. I am stumped on the Ragsdales. I'm good on the old part of the Pattersons and related Tenn. Grinad/Grenade, Sutherland/Southerland lines. Also, the last trace of Mahulda/Huldy I can find is the 1880 census. She simply vanishes. I would just like to visit the poor woman's grave. She is my great-grandmother. There is more to it than this, but hubby Atwood/At/Att died at "Hopkinsville" - the Western Kentucky Lunatic Asylum in 1911. This is one of those things that I dug out of the shallow ground because Aunt (Lassie) Mae, a person I knew all my life and my dad never seemed to be aware Atwood was alive and even living with them during their lifetime. Well, my dad was really too little to remember (both he and Mae are dead.) Humongous mystery - I have my theories. His grave is on the grounds of the now-Western Kentucky State Hospital, but probably unmarked. No funeral, no obituary, nobody took him home to bury him and they didn't return to fill out his death certificate, because it is uffed up.
