I believe this is my great-uncle (yes, it's true!) William Green Hardcastle, born 1842 in Warren County. In our family Bible or some other information (Aunt Lassie Mae apparently disposed of the Bible after she figured out we knew she erased the "Lassie" out of her name) it was indicated that William Green and his brother John Thomas Hardcastle, born 1841, both died of pneumonia in the war. We never even knew what side they were on. I still haven't been able to find anything resembling records for John. Does anyone have any good information about any of this?
