Hello, I was wondering if anyone had a copy of the KENTUCKY BIRTHS FROM 1852-1910. If so, could you look and see if there is a Joseph Ervin Ogles listed? I would so appreciate knowing who it lists as his parents and any pertinent info....thanks in advance.... Sandy

Hi Sandy, I don't know about your Joseph Ervin Ogles but am wondering if he might be kin to my line. My Sarah Ogles, daughter of William Ogles and Margret "Peggy" Orr in Sumner Co, Tn. (across the state line) she married my Joel Hardy Harris 1 Mar 1825 in Allen County. Joel is the son of David Harris who was one of the early county officials in Allen when it was formed and he married Ellizabeth "Martha" Hardy. William Ogles and Margaret "Peggy" Orr had quite a few children and maybe your Joseph might have descended from one of their sons ? Sandy, The only entry that fits that time frame, is an unnamed male, B: December 15, 1858, to John Ogles and Louisa Dearington, Allen County. None in the neighboring Counties. Need the copy? Hi Sandy and Mildred, I checked real quick and found the following : Joseph C. Ogles married Mary Jane Oxford as Mildred has said. They have a child mamed L.F. Ogles. As you follow the Oxford line it goes to Mary Jane's parents as Daniel Oxford and Mary Dinwiddie. They have a daughter Martha Oxford born 12 Aug 1783 died 30 Dec 1853... Martha married Richard Wilkins DERINGTON born 20 May 1794 Ky died 6 Aug 1865 in Henderson, Rusk Co., TX. I don't know if this could be the same Derrington family my Sarah Ogles whose brother John Ogles who married Louisa Derington in 1825 or not. But it is something to consider. Oxford are probably the parents of my husbands gr gr gr grandmother Mary Elizabeth (Bettie) Ogles that was married to Levi Graves. Is there any other info on them?
