Powell operated a photography studio in Scottsville? I am trying to date a photograph and its difficult because of the nature of the setting. The people are sitting so their clothing doesn't provide many clues. The woman is wearing a shawl so the sleeves and skirt silhouette is not apparent. The man has a long flowing beard so the shirt collar is hidden. He is also sitting so the length of his jacket is deceiving. The photo was made outdoors, indicating smaller and lighter cameras that could be easily transported by the photographer - so definitely after 1860's. There is an oriental rug hanging behind them and a blanket with the wing of an eagle folded on the back of the woman's chair.
