Hi Mary, Yes, that census taker did initials which I might add has caused me problems in my research. LOL ! I have in the 1860 Allen County census the following : 267-259 S.H. Harris (must be Solomon Henry Harris) 52 years old born in (TN). ... I have a question on that. Maplda (couldn't read it ) 44 yrs born Ky. Elizabeth 27 yrs old Solomon 22 yrs old Thomas 16 yrs old Solomon ? Coleman 14 yrs old Charles 11 yrs old...... all children born in Ky. I don't know anything else about them. On my 3rd great grandparents Joel Hardy Harris and Sarah Ogles I have : Chlidren: (1) William F. Harris m Martha Guy (2) James W. Harris m Louisa Agnes Guy (my next grandparents) (3) David Solomon Harris m Martha J. Alexander (4) J.F. Harris (5) Margaret Harris (6) S.K. Harris (7) Robert F. Harris (8) P.B. Harris I only researched my direct grandparents generations and didn't expand on the other children. Sorry !
